If you’re a teacher, be sure to stop by the Athens Farmers Market on Wednesday, September 3rd or Saturday, September 6th to pick up some tips for your fall school gardens.

Did you order fall plants for your school garden? You can pick those up, too!

Forgot to order plants? We will be distributing seeds for free even if you didn’t order plants!

If you’re a new visitor to the farmers market: enjoy $5 free to spend at the market through the My Market Program. So farmers market veterans, bring a friend!!

Fall Vegetable Gardening Workshop

Fall is the ideal season for growing many vegetables! Attend this free workshop to learn fall gardening basics. Taught by UGA College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences faculty, the workshop will include tips for soil preparation, what crops to plant, planting tips and maintenance.

Cine and The National Team Up to Support Farm to School!

Tonight (Tuesday, August 19th) downtown independent movie theater Cine will host a screening of GO PUBLIC, a film documentary that depicts a single day in urban public schools. Screening times are 5pm and 7:15pm. And make sure to stop by The National, the most delicious restaurant adjacent to Cine, and try one of their specially prepared veggie treats–made with vegetables grown at Clarke County Middle School.

All proceeds benefit local organizations working to better education and farm to school in Athens.
